Windmill Card

This card looks more complicated than it really is. I punched 8 squares with the 1 1/4" punch. The first set of 4 squares are mounted in a square formation with mini glue dots on the outer corners. The second set were slipped in behind the first set to make the windmill and mounted with mini glue dots. The pop-up card is basically the old explosion fold. Antique Wallpaper Tutorial

  1. 1. Place cardstock into the embossing folder in your Sizzix, Big Shot, or Cuttlebug and use the embossing machine to emboss.
  2. 2. Rub the lighter of two dye inks over some of the embossed texture on the cardstock.
  3. 3. Rub the remaining ink color over the rest of the raised texture on the cardstock.
  4. 4. Spritz the paper with water.
  5. 5. Lift the cardstock and allow the water and inks to run into the background a bit.
  6. 6. Use the heat tool to dry the cardstock completely.
  7. 7. Place the embossed cardstock ON TOP of the embossing folder and run through the embossing machine to flatten the texture.
  8. 8. Apply the antique paper ink color to the edges of the cardstock with a sponge to enhance the aged look.
  9. 9. Wrap ribbon around cardstock.
  10. Punch 9 flowers. Sponge the edges of the flowers and stack three per flower and attach with a brad. Fold up the petals toward the center.
  11. Attach a punched butterfuly.
  12. Punch 3 tiny flowers and attach to lower right corner with brads.
  13. Attach this to card base.

Tent Card

I am sorry I did not write down the specific products used in this card. It is a 5 1/2 X 5 1/2" square card. There is an accordion folded piece at the bottom 3 X 5 1/2". The center bunny swings from a silver string suspended from between the layers. Since the top is attached, you can put your message on the back of the card. You can see from the side view the accordion fold that the card sits on.

Tips for Coloring Very Detailed Stamps

In this card, I used a Thomas Kinkade stamp from Heritage Farms (yeah, I know it's contraband). One of the ways I used it and liked it was to stamp it with Basic Brown permanent ink. In this sample, I stamped it with brown Stazon on vellum cardstock. I colored the back of the vellum with markers. This way the coloring is subtle, but the details are not lost. The trees were embossed. A bit of glitter was sprinkled on before heating.

Post-It Note Holder

2 X 2 post it note pad is sandwiched between cardstock and decorated. Use your Cropadile to punch the hole and insert a binder ring which can be attached to your purse for a ready note pad.

Pop-Up Technique

To do this, punch a circle, the larger the better. With your scissors, start cutting at the edge in a swirl to the middle. Attach the center of your swirl to the upper side on the inside of your card and the "tail" on the bottom part on the inside of your card. You can then attach a small item to the middle of the swirl.

I've found a new love--the Big Shot. It cuts vinyl, play foam, fabric, mat board. It is so fun. You will be seeing more things on here.

Die cut Card

I have been playing with the Big Shot again. This is a sample of a card, very easy, made by backing the die cut with chocolate chip cardstock.
